People are so coerced to use conventional medicine that they refuse to even give alternative medicine a chance because advertisements have such great influence when heard often enough, that the public is convinced. Have you ever noticed the way conventional medicines are advertised? It seems apparent that every effort is made to highlight the possible negative effects.
Next what comes into the scene is complementary medicine, another treatment which is used along with conventional medicine to affect a cure. However, not all complementary medicine must be used with conventional medicine to be effective.
For example: When the word “cholesterol” comes to mind some of us may think of it as deadly. The truth about cholesterol is that it isn’t deadly at all, it’s a vital substance. Cholesterol is actually a very important part of our bodies because it’s used to form cell membranes and is needed for other functions in our bodies.
However, it’s when there are excessive levels of cholesterol in the blood that cholesterol can become dangerous.
There are different ways one can develop high cholesterol. Your body, mainly the liver, can produce too much cholesterol and a poor diet will almost always do it. You MUST follow a strict, permanent, and healthy lifestyle to take control of your cholesterol.
This includes:
1) Getting more active.
2) Eating foods that are low in cholesterol.
3) Maintaining a diet rich in soluble fiber.
There are also many natural alternatives that can be used to compliment a healthy lifestyle. Lecithin, which is a natural substance derived from the soybean, is one of the most effective supplements available to lower cholesterol.
What just hovers onto my mind is why most people don’t try natural remedies. Very often a simple massage is the answer to a problem. I personally have not had a headache for many years. Now they are virtually no more a part of my life.
I have helped many, many persons to be rid of a headache by just simply giving them a massage as mentioned above. Many had headaches lingering for days, and after about 20 minutes of massage, they miraculously stopped.
Think of the thousands of persons who might have been alive today if only they had known, and had been encouraged, to use certain natural remedies to be healed.It is not the intention of this article to condemn the use of conventional medicine, like prescription drugs. There have been countless such cases where, without the administration of conventional medicine, many persons would not have survived.
However, it is my hope that conventional medicine in the field of drugs will one day give way to alternative medicine, and conventional medicine will retain its place in the field of surgery and other traumatic conditions where it cannot be replaced. Natural alternatives are not only much safer than using prescription drugs but also a lot cheaper.

If you break the word apart, Nutra has to do with nutrition, and Ceuticals has to do with drug companies ? pharmaceuticals. So what is the big deal? Nutraceuticals are god-given nutrients that are readily available for our good health, but drug companies want to make them illegal to buy and use ? unless they can sell them to increase their bank accounts.
Another word you need to know is CODEX (the European Food Supplements Directive). The purpose of Codex is similar to Nutraceuticals. The government wants to control supplements so that we are made totally dependent on doctors, drug companies and the government.
Your first response is "What the heck does Europe have to do with me? I live in the US." Well, this is one of the first steps in controlling healthy things ? supplements, vitamins, minerals, and healthy foods. If it is successful in Europe, they (multinational governments) will bring CODEX to the US.
So, what will CODEX do to us?

We need more doctors who know how to find the cause of disease and help us eliminate the causes instead of covering up the symptoms with drugs ? like pain pills for arthritis.
Now you know what Nutraceuticals and CODEX represent. Someday you will need to contact your congressman, congresswoman or your senator to stop the chemical boys from killing us. The only thing we have is our voices. The chemicals boys have more money to pay for political campaigns than we can imagine. Remember, Democrat or Republican is not the issue because both sides have been bought and paid for with the millions of dollars of profits made from selling us expensive drugs that don’t work or make us more ill.

1. As soon as your food is served, ask for a box and put half of your meal into it to take home. Restaurant portions are usually twice the size they should be anyway.
2. Don’t ruin a nice, low fat salad with creamy dressing. Go for the vinaigrette or oil and vinegar, and use them sparingly.
3. If you go out to dinner, are at someone’s house for dinner or are generally in any situation where you cannot prepare your own food, do the best you can to choose the healthiest food possible. Scrape heavy sauce off meat, order salad dressing on the side, and eat your salad first.
4. Eat your salad first and, when your dinner is served, eat your veggies first, then the carbs and meat. You most likely will not be able to finish.
5. Request steamed veggies.
6. Don’t let yourself down by getting (or sharing) a dessert. Order some fruit or Jell-O instead, if you must have something sweet.
7. Arrive with a healthy meal in mind and ask for it without opening your menu. This will spare you the pain of looking at an array of temptation.
8. After each bite, put your fork down, and don’t pick it up again until you’ve completely swallowed the last bite.
9. Drink a glass of skim milk or soy milk before you leave your house.
10. Look for restaurants that serve “contemporary”, “spa” or “California” cuisine.
OTHER EATING TIPS
Treat yourself once a week to a something you love. Don’t pig out the whole day because you will undo all your hard work from the previous week.
Bring your own lunch and snacks from home. Prepare the night before to save time.
Every time you crave something (example: a burger, pizza, cake, cookies, etc.) write it down on a piece of paper and put it in a jar. On Saturday or Sunday pull one item out of the jar and go for it!

To work the lower biceps, use a preacher bench that has a rounded face and well-padded corners. Place a towel over the bench so the vinyl doesn’t rub the skin off your elbows.
First, do a set of dumbbell curls with a weight heavy enough that you can do only 6 reps. Go all the way down, uncurl the wrist and then curl it again. you can cheat on this exercise, but be sure to uncurl and curl your wrists at the bottom of the movement. After completing 6 reps and 4 partial reps, go immediately to the wide-grip barbell curl. Form is critical, so follow these tips:
Select a barbell that’s about 45% of your one-rep max for standing barbell curls.
Grasp the bar with your palms up and thumbs wrapped around the bar.
Use a grip that’s about 4 inches wider than shoulder width.
Let yourself sink all the way down on the bench so your armpits are right down on it. Make every effort to get as deep as possible on the bench.
Your goal is to do this exercise super-strict - absolutely no cheat at all. Point your feet forward so you can’t cheat with them either.
Let the bar move all the way to the bottom and uncurl your wrists. (you don’t have to uncurl your fingers, just your wrists).
With no cheat at all, slowly curl the wrists up, then curl the arms. This is the critical part of the exercise. Don’t pull back with your body or head. Stay fixed on the bench while the biceps and forearms do every bit of the work.
Curl your arms all the way up and rest just long enough to take a breath.
Repeat the exercise for eight reps.
This exercise is truly a killer, but man, it does build mass!
