Basic Abdominal Exercises

If it’s six pack abs that you’re after, daily abdominal exercises are the key to reaching your goal. There are a variety of effective abdominal exercises that you can try out to find which one is best for you. Or, for maximum results, you can combine a few different abdominal exercises or alternate between your favorites.

Probably the simplest, and most popular, abdominal exercise is the crunch. Lying on the floor with your knees bent and feet flat will get your crunch started. Some people like to place their fingertips to the sides of the head, just behind the ears, while others like to do crunches with their arms crossed over their chest. Either way, the next step is to push your lower back to the floor and hold that while you crunch your abdominal muscles to lift your shoulders a few inches off the floor.

To mix things up a bit, you could add an exercise ball to your crunch. You will want to sit on the exercise ball with your feet flat on the floor. Slowly let the ball roll as you lie back until your thighs and torso are parallel with the floor. Then you will contract your abs, raising your torso no more than 45 degrees. The exercise ball is a lot of fun and can really help keep you from getting too bored with your usual abdominal exercises.

5 Ways To Make Protein Benefit You

Imagine this … What if you could ?

Calculate the correct amount of protein needed for your body.

Learn about the best food sources of protein.

As you are looking for ideas, here is proven nutrition information about how protein can benefit you.

1. Are you aware that protein increases the rate of metabolism of your body because it is Thermogenic? - because it takes more calories to process protein rich foods and nutritional supplements.

"Thermogenic" refers to the normal Thermogenesis process your body goes through in digesting and using the food you eat and the burning of calories and fat from that food. i.e. - producing energy from the food you eat.

The body requires more calories to process or digest protein than it does to digest fat or carbohydrates. Thus your metabolism is raised by consuming protein rich foods.

Here is a good resource for more information about Thermogenesis: http://www.mpcoffee.com/thermogenesis.htm

2. Increase the rate at which your fat cells are able to burn stored fat!

Liquid or Pills?

A lot of people take vitamins A, C, B and much more or just take a multivitamin, before you only had to choose from brand but now not just that you have to choose from liquid or pills. From many choices which its better and more effective to use.

People say that pills are better and don’t trust the liquid vitamins but others say that liquid vitamins is better because the stomach don’t have to brake the pills down. To me I think it is a matter of opinion.

In my opinion you should use what you feel better with. Pill or liquid just make sure is a product you like or trust and does not hurt to do a little research on the product yo plan to use. Know what you whant to use or plan to use make sure it’s a good product.

So which is better liquid or pill I think is a matter of preference can’t take pills use liquid vitamins or don’t like the taste os the liquid vitamins then take the pills is your choice.

How To Get Fit And Slash Your Health Insurance Costs

Okay, before we start, let me explain the purpose of this article. I want you to get so healthy, you’ll never need to make a health insurance claim. You’ll save money by increased fitness. You’ll save money with a long no-claims insurance history. And you’ll look and feel much better.

There’s three sides to your maximum health and fitness. Diet, and Exercise. But that’s only two ! Let me split Exercise into Aerobic exercise and Aneorobic exercise.

Get all three right. Get the right balance. And you’ll get as fit and healthy as your body and genetics will allow.

Whole forests of paper have been filled with advice on each of these fitness factors. Just go into your local bookstore, and see shelves of diet advice. Shelves of exercise advice.

Funny how so much contradicts itself, especially for diet e.g right next to each other on the shelf, you’ll find a book advocating low carbs & low fat; another saying high fat is okay if you keep the carbs low. Yet another focuses on high protein, and says carbs don’t matter…

A Lifestyle Approach to Remedy Snoring

If you want to remedy snoring, you have to find the underlying cause. Snoring is not an affliction like the common cold, where you wake up one morning and you’ve just got it. It is something that normally arrives slowly over time. Most people can’t remember the day and date that their snoring started. It was sometime in my mid 30’s or some such vague description is the normal response to a question on its arrival.

The lifestyle approach to remedy your snoring, doesn’t treat it as a condition or a disease. But rather treats snoring as a symptom, or a warning, that the body is out of balance.

I like to think of snoring like the ground proximity alarm in a modern jet aircraft. (The one that goes "WOOP! WOOP! PULL UP! PULL UP!", if the aircraft gets too close to the ground when it’s not supposed to). If you are a pilot, you’d prefer not to hear it. But if you did, you would be grateful for the warning before dire consequences arrived. I’m sure the warning siren must be very annoying when it is activated but a lot less painful than the alternative. Likewise snoring is annoying, but not responding to the warning may have more serious consequences.

Do You Make These South Beach Diet Mistakes?

The South Beach Diet works, for most people. Its low fat, low carb approach helps you lose weight quickly and easily. Health benefits are great too.

But there’s some easy mistakes you must avoid.

Gain Weight in Phase 2

Most people do well being strict in Phase 1. But what happens when you switch into Phase 2 ? Often, you put some weight back on again. Why ? Because your body’s starved of carbs for 2 or 3 weeks. At the start of Phase 2 it grabs at every carb you give it, and turns them into fat. I learned this lesson the hard way, gaining 2 lbs in my first Phase 2 week. So reintroduce carbs slowly when you go into Phase 2, and make sure they’re good carbs.

Feel Hungry

Yes, if South Beach makes you hungry, you’re doing it wrong. You don’t need to feel hungry. Eat 3 meals a day, with snacks in between, choosing from the foods allowed in your current phase.

Stay in Phase 1 for too Long

A Stitch In Time Saves Nine - Prevention not Cure

It is a sad fact that most people pay little attention to their health until it is at risk. It is only then that people truly realise that health and wellbeing is far more important than money, and that all the money in the world cannot always buy health.

From an early age we learn that prevention is better than cure - a stitch in time saves nine. Nowhere is this more true than in caring for our health, and with our health we don’t always get a second chance if something goes wrong.

With the exception of some factors determined by genetics our general state of health is essentially determined by our lifestyle - our diet, the exercise we get, the respect we have for our bodies. All of these are the key determiners of our present and future health.

There are a number of things we can do to be healthy but essentially it boils down to this - we must live as nature intends. By eating healthy natural foodstuffs, by exercising in the open air, and by listening to our bodies we can have a positive influence on our health - even in the midst of factors we cannot control such as chronic disease.

How You Can Eat Carbs and Still Lose Weight

When I decided to lose weight I of course decided to do as much planning as possible. It seems the older I get the harder it is to do anything without completely planning it out. Anyways, I had already been on the all protein diets and knew that they worked. The only problem was I could never stick to them for very long.

So I decided to research the net a little more and see if I could find some other program that I had not yet heard about. I noticed something kind of strange, the more I looked around at different weight loss articles.

The two types of people that seemed to be claiming their way of eating was the best, were either vegans or the no carbohydrate eaters. This made sense to me. I mean, I know people who have lost lots of weight eating no carbohydrates. And if you know anyone who is a vegan, you know that they are generally very slim.

So I researched some more and came across some articles on food combining. These people claimed that you can eat whatever you want as long as you combine it properly. You can eat pasta as long as you only eat it with vegetables. Or, you can eat meat as long as you only eat it with vegetables.

Food for Healthy Nails

Nails are a protective horn at the end of our most sensitive extremities: fingers and toes. They can often become injured from accidents or crushing weight such as heavy walking or running. They can also become infected from bacterial or fungal infections as well as separated from the nail bed or chipped from harsh weather.

The nails are often a reflection of our overall health or nutritional deficiencies. Some ways to listen to what your nails are trying to tell you are:

? Iron/Protein/Calcium Deficiency = brittle, concave, ridged, white half moons

? Too much salt = external fibrous growths

? Nervousness / hyper thyroid = separation of the nail bed

? Respiratory Difficulties = bluish discoloration

? Bronchial Difficulties = yellowish discoloration

? Anemia = pale nail beds

? Vitamin A Deficiency = peeling nails

? Zinc Deficiency = poor nail growth

? Vegetable Quality Oils Deficiency = thin, brittle nails

? Consumption Extremes in Diet (especially meats and refined foods) = washboard ridges

What we eat actually does affect the appearance of these external parts of our bodies. Start paying attention to your hands (and feet!) and feeding your body right.

Can You Attain Weight Loss While Fasting?

Fasting, when done properly, can be a basic part of a solid weight loss plan. If done correctly it can be a great start to your new way of living.

When I first started my weight loss program I began with a fast. I have fasted for 2-7 days on a few different occasions. The reason that fasting can be such a great way to start a weight loss program is because you can see results immediately.

It will also make it very easy to stick to your diet for the first week. After not eating for a few days, your food will taste better. This is a great time to go a few days eating only fruits and vegetables. This can easily turn your two day fast into a 7 day, full body cleanse.

Fasting can make you look much thinner in only a couple days. You may not lose a significant amount of weight, but it will look like you have. It can make your waist noticeably thinner and clear up blemishes or skin problems.
